Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

I’m not a fan of sauces that come from a can/jar, more often than not they are not very healthy or carry tons of salts to preserve them.  One day, tired of plain old sauce, I came up with this recipe and it has been a favorite ever since.

Spaghetti Sauce Recipe:

1 pound hamburger
salt and pepper to taste
8 medium mushrooms
3 garlic cloves
1/2 large onion
1 bell pepper
1-12 ounce can diced tomatoes

Start browning hamburger meat in a skillet on medium heat.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper to your liking.  In a blender or food processor combine mushrooms, garlic, onion, bell pepper, and diced tomatoes.  Blend until fine.  When meat is done add in the pureed mix of veggies.  Simmer for 20 minutes.  Serve over cooked spaghetti noodles.

*Depending on how many you cook for, this recipe works well when doubled in amounts!
